Tiny Tip Tuesday ~ Give menu planning a try

I think its pretty clear that if you PLAN, you have a better chance of succeeding, in whatever it may be. For me, planning my menu for the week is very helpful to keep my food on track and helps me avoid those impulse choices like ordering pizza, grabbing sugary cereal for dinner, etc. Not to mention, it causes me less stress throughout the week because I dont have to think about what were having for dinner.

I typically start by hitting up my favorite resources(see Helpful Links tab for my fave online resources). I usually use a few of our regular recipes and then try one or two new ones from my favorite bloggers or a recipe I tore out of a magazine. I also determine what Im going to bulk cook or prepare for the week. Planning our menu helps to keep me focused at the grocery store too so Im not walking aimlessly down aisles deciding what to eat. It honestly takes about 15-20 minutes out of my Saturday or Sunday to determine what recipes Im going to make and determine my grocery list.

(In case youre wondering, my LEO is in charge of dinner on Mondays & Tuesdays and Im assigned Saturdays & Sundayswe sometimes fly by the seat of our pants for Wed, Thurs, & Fri but I feel less stressed if its planned)
